Engaging in Spiritual Warfare:

A Real-World Battle for the Kingdom

by J. Leoni

Spiritual WarfareSpiritual warfare isn’t just a concept we read about in Scripture—it’s a daily reality for believers who stand for God’s Kingdom. Sometimes it’s subtle, and other times, it’s unmistakable. Recently, a situation unfolded that serves as a powerful illustration of this battle. It began with a parable—a simple, timeless story crafted to glorify God and invite people into His redemptive plan. Fitz, Wendy, and I worked together to bring it to life. Fitz created the artwork, Wendy and I voiced it, and I shared it on TikTok, believing it would be a tool to spread the Gospel.

TikTok, however, labeled the video as “sexual content” and censored it for audiences under 18. It was absurd—there was nothing inappropriate about the parable. It was a pure and honest depiction of how God entered our world to make a way for us to enter His. But this censorship wasn’t just an algorithmic mistake. It was a clear attack on God’s truth, meant to silence His voice. I took to Truth Social, calling on others to help make the video go viral, not for personal recognition, but to stand against the suppression of God’s Word. What followed was a reminder that when truth is proclaimed, the enemy reacts.

Almost immediately, a self-proclaimed “Queen of Heaven” joined the conversation. Her comments were a mix of hostility, arrogance, and spiritual deception. She accused us of knowing a “satanic god of the system” and claimed to walk with God on Earth. She made bold but empty proclamations of divine authority, claiming, “YHWH is in my DNA,” and asserting that all doors to the Kingdom were closed to us. It was blatant spiritual warfare, yet her words only revealed the false spirit behind her claims. Wendy, with her sharp spiritual discernment, stepped in with grace and authority. She asked the pointed question, “Who does your soul belong to?” and followed up with, “Which false god does your soul belong to? I didn’t ask who you walked with.”

This wasn’t just a confrontation—it was spiritual precision. Wendy’s responses weren’t attacks; they were declarations of truth meant to expose the lies and point this woman to the only one who could save her. She concluded with a Gospel-centered statement that cut through all the noise: “If you claim the Queen of Heaven, then your soul is in serious danger. Repent and seek Jesus, the one that died for your sins and rose 3 days later as an atoning sacrifice. He is the only one who can save you.”

The escalation of this attack, from TikTok’s censorship to the Queen of Heaven’s comments, was no coincidence. Earlier that morning, I had anointed and consecrated our property and shower, praying over our household and the entire PHP team. I specifically prayed for protection and for whatever demon was oppressing this woman to be released in Jesus’ name. The timing of the attack confirmed what we already knew: the enemy hates when truth is proclaimed, especially when it glorifies God and leads people to Christ.

In moments like this, it’s easy to feel the weight of the battle, but it’s also a reminder of the victory we already have in Christ. The enemy’s chaos is evidence that God’s truth is advancing. This isn’t just about one parable or one conversation—it’s about standing firm in the authority God has given us and fighting for souls, even when the opposition is fierce.

This real-world example illustrates several key truths about spiritual warfare. First, the enemy always reacts to the truth. When we stand for God’s Word, we should expect resistance. But instead of seeing opposition as a setback, we can recognize it as confirmation that we’re on the right path. The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to bring life, and that life is worth fighting for.

Second, authority comes from God alone. The enemy’s weapons are intimidation and deception, but they hold no power against God’s sovereignty. The Queen of Heaven’s claims of divine authority crumbled under the weight of Wendy’s scriptural truth. Jesus has given us authority to overcome the enemy, and when we rely on His power, no false spirit can stand.

Third, prayer and consecration are powerful weapons. Anointing the property and shower wasn’t just symbolic—it was a declaration of God’s presence and a barrier against spiritual forces. Praying for the PHP team and even for the woman attacking us wasn’t just the right thing to do—it was spiritual warfare in action. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, and we saw that power at work in the enemy’s desperate reaction.

Fourth, responding with boldness and grace is key. Wendy’s responses were firm and unyielding, but they were also filled with compassion. She didn’t attack the woman; she exposed the lies and pointed her to the truth. Her words reflected the heart of Christ, who desires repentance and salvation for all.

Finally, we can celebrate the victory, even in the midst of the battle. The enemy may have tried to silence the parable, but instead, it sparked conversations, planted seeds, and showed others what it looks like to stand firm in faith. God’s Word will not return void, and this situation is proof of that.

Spiritual warfare is real, but so is our victory in Christ. This story is a reminder that we’re not fighting for victory—we’re fighting from victory. God has already won, and He calls us to stand firm, trust in His power, and proclaim His truth boldly. No matter how loud the opposition gets, His Word will not be silenced.

Let this moment encourage you to step boldly into the battles God has called you to fight. Whether it’s through prayer, truth-telling, or simply standing firm in faith, know that your obedience is making an eternal impact. And remember, the battle is the Lord’s—our job is to trust Him and stay faithful. God’s Kingdom will prevail. Let’s keep advancing it together.
